Our staff

That's me!Daphne Lawless has been working full-time in publishing since 2008. Daphne's indexes have been published by Routledge, Radcliffe, Continuum, Penguin and other major international publishers, as well as small presses and self-published works. Daphne has been awarded Accredited Indexer status by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers, denoting her as a full professional in her field.

Daphne studied for the Postgraduate Diploma in Translation Studies at the University of Auckland, New Zealand, specialising in the French language. She graduated in September 2014, earning a grade of Distinction (highest) overall, and coming first in class for Translation Theory and Community Interpreting. She is a Full Member of the New Zealand Society of Translators and Interpreters. She has a PhD in English Literature and has also attained the DALF C2 (France's highest qualification for French as a second language). She is currently training to add Persian (Farsi) to her professional translating/interpreting repertoire.

In her spare time, Daphne writes electronic pop music, plays football and participates in science-fiction fandom. She is married with two young children.
